Divided Districts: Students in Poverty Isolated Within District Boundaries

We’ve long known that funding schools through local property taxes perpetuates inequalities.

This new interactive map of poverty by school district makes clear how far those with the power to do so have gone to ensure that the resources available to the “haves” are kept from the “have nots”, even when it means creating school districts with no real relationship to geographic reality.
